Earlier this month, an HIV epidemic was officially declared in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, where the health department estimates 1 out of every 50 residents is a carrier of the virus. The government has been hesitant to recognise that Russia is experiencing one of the world's fastest-growing HIV epidemics.

In May, the head of the state AIDS center said that the country hit a tragic milestone of one million diagnosed HIV cases; it's estimated that three million people will be infected by 2020.

Predicting the future is near impossible -- but that doesn‘t stop us all from having a red hot go. Human beings have been predicting the future since the beginning of history and the results range from the hilarious to the downright uncanny.
