When an extended version of a film is included on a Blu-ray, obviously, that’s the main event. But Deadpool 2 has much more going for it than just an extended cut.

Deadpool 2 is a family movie. We know that because, very early on, Deadpool himself says it. Of course, that's an odd thing for a character known for excessive violence, naughty language, and occasional nudity to announce. But Deadpool, the writers, and the director spend the bulk of the film trying to live up to that promise, albeit it in very unconventional and roundabout ways - but with the same Deadpool you love at its heart.
After a video devoted solely to the introduction of the gun-toting, time-travelling mutant Cable and a Bob Ross homage, the Merc with a Mouth finally takes center stage in his new trailer, which is, full disclosure, pretty fantastic. It's chock full of Deadpool's trademark violence and nonsense, a couple of excellent X-Men gags, and some truly delightful profanity. Check it out.
In many ways, aspects of Atomic Blonde will be really familiar to fans of high-octane action movies. It invests a lot in ambitious set pieces and fight choreography, and features many predictable character archetypes. But it manages to tie together its Cold War setting and character arcs into a larger theme very, very well.
