Apple’s iAd platform is here, but the advertisements themselves are still few and far between. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple’s desire to closely control the creation of the ads has slowed their arrival.
Apple’s been eyeing mobile advertising ever since they snatched up Quattro back in January. Today, as part of their iPhone OS 4.0 announcement, comes iAd: Apple’s plans for in-app ads that are about to get a lot more interactive – possibly even fun.
Today, Google purchased AdMob for $US750 million. AdMob provides mobile advertisements in places Google doesn’t, like in apps or while web browsing, but what it really means is that Google is staking its claim in the mobile ad world.
