Sometimes, your hands are completely tied up when you need to use a device the most — so even gesture recognition is no use, let alone a touchscreen. MIT’s latest input device though, which turns your thumbnail into a track pad, could help.
Over the weekend, Bloomberg reported that Apple was working on enhanced sensors capable of detecting different levels of pressure. Now, an Apple patent for pressure-sensitive touchscreens could lend that rumour some credence.
The killer (or be killed) feature of the new Microsoft Surface for Windows RT is its keyboard. The tablet itself is a wonderful device. It’s got a great body and a (seemingly) fast processor, but input is everything.
