There have been a lot of cool and beautiful vehicles shown at the Geneva Motor Show, as well of some amazing futuristic pieces. Alongside electric supercars like the Audi R8 e-tron, though, there’s a concept from Goodyear that might point to the future of charging electric cars.
This ain’t no blimp. The first new dirigible in nearly a half century to bear the the iconic Goodyear logo is actually a rigid airship — a safer, more efficient, far less explodey form of air travel than conventional blimps.
The pilot of a Goodyear blimp died in Germany on Sunday when his airship, due to be retired in 2013, caught fire landing. Before dying, the heroic pilot saved three passengers by ordering them to jump. [Jalopnik]
