That Grizzly Bear Killed by a Mountain Goat Was Innocent
Earlier this month, hikers discovered the body of a 70 kilogram grizzly bear near Burgess Pass in the Canadian Rockies. Unbelievably, an autopsy by Parks Canada found the bear had been killed by a mountain goat. Even more unbelievably, my colleagues on the Gizmodo science team celebrated this, calling the goat a “badass.”

Scientists Found the Oldest Known Grizzly Bear in Yellowstone
Scientists found a 34-year-old grizzly bear in southwest Wyoming, identifying him by a mark on his lip made by biologists in 1989. That’s the oldest grizzly ever known in the Yellowstone region that includes parts of Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. Respect your elders.
