Nokia Phone Code-Named ‘Captain America’ Rumoured To Debut At MWC 2020

MWC 2020 doesn’t kick off until the end of February, but Nokia’s secret announcements might just have been spoiled by notorious leaker Evan Blass, who shared images from an upcoming Nokia phone codenamed ‘Captain America’.

The images below were posted to his Twitter account, which has become well-known for sharing reliable and authentic insider information. Blass speculated that the phone could be the follow-up to 2018’s Nokia 5.1, which was touted as a budget phone for gamers, and also revealed the fantastic codename for the device — ‘Captain America’.

Checking out its bum, you can see why it’s been given the name — not because it shares the same ripped arse and abs that Chris Evans proudly displays in Marvel’s popular movie franchise, but because the camera array resembles Captain America’s iconic vibranium shield. This name is likely to be changed for final release.

Other details speculated (but not confirmed) by Blass include that the phone could have 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a price point around the US$180 ($270). While the quad rear camera array certainly looks impressive, no further details were revealed about exact specs.

MCW 2020 is approaching fast, so we won’t have to wait long to find out more about this particular model. Until then, stay tuned to Gizmodo Australia for all the latest news and announcements.
