The Echo Input Portable is making its debut in India later this month.
A follow up to last year’s Echo Input (basically an Echo Dot without a speaker), the Echo Input Portable Smart Speaker Edition loses the capability to add Alexa to your existing speakers, and is instead simply positioned as a portable speaker.
“One of the most asked for features [for Alexa] is portability,” said Miriam Daniel, VP of Alexa Devices. “You want to be able to carry Alexa with you from room to room within your homes, and we’ve designed something just for you.”
It houses a 4,800mAh rechargeable battery that’ll give you 10 hours of playback, and 11 hours of standby battery life. The speaker boasts 360-degree sound and a fabric finish. The more privacy conscious will be pleased to hear that there’s a mic off button, and recordings can be edited and deleted.
The Echo Input Portable is launching in India on December 18, coming in at Rs 4,999, which is around $100. [TechRadar]
