Hours before its IFA press conference Samsung has officially slapped a new release date on the Galaxy Fold.

And it’s soon. Real soon.

As the tech world will remember, the Galaxy Fold was delayed several months back due to issues with the 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display.

The company hasn’t gone into specifics as yet, but mentioned generic improvements in its press release.

“During the past several months, Samsung has been refining the Galaxy Fold to ensure it delivers the best possible experience. Not only we improved the Galaxy Fold’s design and construction, but also took the time to rethink the entire consumer journey.”

However, back in July it stated that the overall Galaxy Fold user experience has been improved, “including optimizing more apps and services for its unique foldable UX. Samsung is conducting final product tests to make Galaxy Fold available to consumers starting from September in select markets.”

At the time Samsung noted September as being the new release period, but without a specific date attached. As of today we now know that it will release in Korea first on September 6. Yep, that’s tomorrow.

We don’t know when the rest of the world will get it, but the release did state that it would be followed by France, Germany, Singapore, U.K., U.S., and more.” Sorry, Australia.

The company also announced that there will be a 5G option for the Fold. We don’t have any word on whether this model will come to Australia, but considering that we have gotten 5G variants of the S10 and Note 10, there’s a strong possibility.

We’ll keep you posted on any more Fold or general Samsung news throughout IFA. Here’s to hoping that we’ll have local pricing and availability soon.

In the meantime, here’s a reminder of some of the key specs:
