Huawei Mate 30 Pro Leak Reveals Hot Quad Camera Design

We’re taking a short break from the multitude of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 leaks to bring you something from Huawei.

It looks like the Mate 30 Pro could be moving away from the square rear camera aesthetic, opting for a more unique look for its quad lens setup.

The latest regards Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro. Sure, it’s future in the West may still have a big question mark next to it thanks to the U.S. but we are still extremely here for any and all scraps of potential info.”]

Both Slashleaks and renowned leaker Ben Geskin have released similar renders, which reveal a circular array for the Mate 30 cameras.

The ring contains 4 lenses as well as a flash, signature ‘Leica’ branding and advertisement for an alleged 5x optical zoom. The latter was introduced in the P30 Pro, though the lens was more of a square shape. In this render it appears to be round.

While there have been no solid leaks regarding the Mate 30 Pro’s camera specs as yet, 5x zoom seems like a solid bet considering that it was only introduced this year. One of the lenses is also likely to be Time of Flight (ToF).

For comparison, the P30 Pro has a 40MP primary lens, 20MP wide angle lens, 8MP telephoto lens and a ToF sensor. Expect the same, if not better, for the Mate 30 series.

Two colours have been used for these renders so far – a deep green and one that seems identical to the ‘breathing crystal’ that was introduced with the P30 series.

This render is completely different to previous leaks which showed a rectangular camera array down the centre of the device. This just goes to show that not all leaks and rumours can be believed.

I’m personally hoping for the round aesthetic; it’s far more sleek and offers a point of difference compared to other flagship phones that also seem to be moving towards square arrays.

Other leaks regarding the Mate 30 series remain scarce at the present time. However, there have been rumours of a 6.7-inch QHD+ screen WITH A 90hZ refresh rate, a 4,200mAH battery with 55W SuperCharge functionality and Huawei’s own Kirin 985 processor.

The Mate 30 Pro will most likely debut in October 2019.
