With roughly three months until the launch of new iPhones, Apple fans are already frothing over what may be in store for the next generation.
Here’s what we’ve heard so far.
We’re still very much in the rumours stage at this point in time – but if things play out like last year we’re probably going to see some pretty solid leaks in the lead up to the launch.
Apple even managed to leak the name of all three iPhones mere hours before officially announcing them.
Of course, these could end up being wrong so take them with a grain of interested by sceptical salt.
Design
Rumour has it that the displays for the iPhone 11 series will stay the same as its 2018 counterparts, with the sizes changing in 2020. That means that we could be looking at 5.8-inches for the regular iPhone 11 and 6.5-inches for the Max version. Both will have OLED panels.
We haven’t heard anything about the display of the budget option at this time.
MacRumors has also suggested that pressure-sensitive 3D Touch may disappear. This is because iOS 13 features such Quick Actions and Peek and Pop will be available on non-3D Touch devices, thus negating the need for the functionality.
There have also been whispers of a triple camera setup at the rear of the device, which will include an ultra-wide lens.
Thanks to some alleged iPhone 11 cases being sent to 9 To 5 Mac, we may also need to expect a square housing setup for the new array.
This new square bump will apparently live underneath a single glass panel in order to be thinner and less conspicuous. The idea of a frosted glass back has been floated too, and I’m not sure how I feel about that.
The cases also reveal that the mute, side and volume buttons will all be aligned on one side of the device.

As for the front-facing camera we may be seeing an upgrade from 7MP to 12MP.
Specs
There are even fewer rumours about what’s going to be happening under the hood of the iPhone 11.
However, you can probably count on Apple’s new A13 processor, which only began production earlier this year, to make an appearance.
We also are highly unlikely to see a 5G iPhone in 2019, with reports stating that they’re pegged for next year.
