It looks like Telstra has a bit of a clearance sale going on with its plans at the moment.

And if you’re a fan of the Google Pixel 2, it might be of interest.

Until stocks last you can pick up a 64GB Pixel 2 XL for $49 a month. It comes with 15GB data and is on a 24-month contract.

You may be wondering if its worth making a two-year commitment on a last gen phone. When it comes to the Pixel 2 XL, yeah it might be.

While there Pixel 3 XL did come with some upgrades, including the processor and a larger display, there wasn’t a whole lot of difference when it comes to the core specs.

You’re still looking at the same RAM, storage and cameras – and the 3 XL even has a slightly smaller battery than its predecessors.

When it comes to laying down long-term cash on a plan, the 2 XL is arguably the better deal when you take both the handset capability and pricing into consideration.

When it comes to updates, Google has guaranteed that the Pixel 2 XL will receive software and security updates until October 2020 at a minimum, so you’re covered in the regards, too.

Just remember, if you’re keen the offer will only last as long as Telstra still has handsets left.
