Earlier this year an Irish woman had a Ghost and Mrs Muir moment by taking to the high seas to marry a 300-year-old pirate who is also a ghost.
Sadly, after less than a year of marriage, the couple have called it quits.
Amanda Sparrow Large is a Jack Sparrow impersonator who has reportedly spent over €6,000 to legally change her name and appearance to look like the iconic Disney pirate.
By some coincidence she fell in love with the ghost of a Haitian pirate who was executed in the 1700s and also named Jack. Sparrow previously described Jack as looking similar Captain Jack Sparrow, with tanned skin and jet-black hair.
The couple met in 2014 when Jack materialised alongside Sparrow's bed.
But Sparrow wasn't down for casual spectral D. She wanted commitment, stating, "I wanted the big traditional wedding with the white dress. It was very important to me."
So the pair were legally married earlier this year by a shaman priest in international waters. But now the dream is over.
According to the Irish Mirror, Sparrow took to social media to announce the separation.
“So I feel it’s time to let everyone know that my marriage is over... I will explain all in due course but for now all I want to say is be VERY careful when dabbling in spirituality, it’s not something to mess with."
