Samsung Launches SmartThings Starter Kit In Australia

Samsung has just partnered with the RACV to launch its SmartThings Starter Kit in Australia. The roll out is only available in Victoria for now, but New South Wales is rumoured to be next on the list for 2019.

The Smart Home Starter Kit is available exclusively through the RACV and is designed to help customers have a more seamless connected home experience.

“SmartThings is a simple and easy to use system that will give Australians confidence and peace of mind by allowing them to manage a range of home sensors and connected product through the SmartThings app on their compatible smartphone,” said Eric Chou, Head of Category Management at Samsung Electronics Australia.

“Smart technology should empower people and provide them with the tools to help manage their everyday life in the best way possible. SmartThings is one way that we are seeking to provide a seamless and easy smart home experience that supports their unique lifestyle.”

The starter kit comes with a SmartThings Wi-Fi Hub, and several sensors (motion, temperature, orientation and door/window sensors). RACV will also provide an assisted installation service.

And if you’re worried about compatability, the hub will connect to third party smart home devices such as lights, cameras, speakers and more – which can all be controlled from the SmartThings app.

The RACV Smart Home Starter Kit is available now for $378.
