Apple Leaks The iPhone XS, XS Max, XR [Updated]

Apple Leaks The iPhone XS, XS Max, XR [Updated]

We’re only hours away away from Apple’s 2018 iPhone event. We’re past the point where we expected to see anymore significant leaks. And yet here we are.

After weeks of somewhat confused speculation as to what the names of the new iPhones would be, they seemed to have been leaked for real this time. By Apple. On its own website.

This article was originally published on September 12 at 9:43pm.

We can thank ATH for this find, which is a product sitemap XML file from apple.com.

The file confirms that the names of all three new Apple iPhones — the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.

It seems like Apple took it down pretty quickly, but ATH managed to get a shot of this:

The Verge also managed to capture these two snippets:

The file also confirmed the rumour about the Apple Watch Series 4 having two new watches that are bigger — 40mm and 44mm, respectively.

iPhone XS and XS Max cases also made an appearance — but none for the XR. The silicon and come in black, white, midnight blue, stone and PRODUCT RED, and the leather ones in black, taupe, saddle brown and PRODUCT RED.

On the leather folio front we can apparently expect to see black, green, cape cod blue, peony pink and Product Red.

Update: Further details regarding the size, storage capacities of the new iPhones and their colours have emerged from The Verge.

Apparently the iPhone XS will have a 5.8-inch OLED screen and the XS Max will have a 6.5-inch OLED screen. Both will also have 64GB, 256GB and 512GB options in silver, gold and space grey.

On the lower end of the spectrum the iPhone XR will have a 6.5-inch LCD screen — meaning that the rumour that it would be physically bigger than the XS is accurate. It will have 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options and come in white, black, yellow coral, blue and red. I’m assuming that the later will be PROJECT RED, but that may be wrong.
