There have been a hell of a lot of memes flying around in the wake of the shit storm that is Australian politics this week. And Clive Palmer has stepped up to the plate with a very confusing tweet in support of Scott Morrison.

What is actually happening here? Let’s just let it sink in that we are at a point in history where politicians who name their party after themselves also tweet out patriotic Photoshop pics of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon.
Unsurprisingly, I’m not the only one who has been left confused.
What kind of bizarre timeline are we in rn

I have so many follow-up questions.
Is Clive Palmer, mining magnate and resort owner, a fan of Kanna?
Does he want to be a magical anime dragon girl?
Is he chasing the dragon?
Is it a metaphor for him wanting to wear ScoMo like a suit, much like Edgar in the cinematic masterpiece Men In Black?
Is there some plot in the show that actually correlates perfectly with the current political situation?
Is he actually just trolling us all?
Did he Photoshop this himself or leave it to some poor intern?
Is this a shared love of coal thing?
Can anyone shed light on this? I demand answers.

We’re not quite sure how we got here, but okay.
So how are people online feeling about our the new leader, who based off historical evidence is bound to stay in power for at least a couple of weeks?
Angry? Relieved that it isn’t Dutton? Booking their flights to New Zealand? Let’s see what the memes have to say.”]
