While cool, a spy camera disguised as a cigarette pack would be out of place in 2018. But 30 years ago, this KIEV-30 camera hidden inside of a John Player case would have been quite the item. Actually, scratch that, it's still an item now, being sold a few days ago for £29,000 ($51,679) at auction.
The gadget was one of many shooters that went under the hammer last Thursday, but it was easily among the most expensive pieces. Surprisingly, it wasn't the only spy camera up for grabs.
This number below, also posing as a cigarette pack, was sold off for £750 ($1336).
For the non-smoking agents out there, there was this handheld lamp. It went for a tidy £2900 ($5167).
Cameras hidden in clothes and jewellery aren't just the stuff of James Bond movies. Take this extremely rare 14-karat gold ring. That setting isn't a precious stone, but a lens, fully capable of taking snapshots via a small lever on the side. And it's currently for sale on eBay.
