Live Out Your Hipster Dreams With This Replica Of The First Mercedes-Benz Ever Made

Since all hipsters collectively decided that the counterculture thing to do was ride fixed gear bicycles everywhere, it's time for true hipsters to one-up to mainstream hipsters. It's time to bring back the Benz Patent Motorwagen from 1886 with this replica. Good year for a hipster revolution.

While we at Jalopnik have disputed whether or not the Benz Patent Motorwagen was truly the first car invented, all you need to concern yourself with is the fact that you can buy a replica of the thing.

In 2001 and 2002, Mercedes-Benz produced a series of fully functioning replicas for museums and other public exhibits. The one that's listed for sale was built in 2002 and is fully functional.

Available from Mercedes-Benz Classic, the listing doesn't really offer much more information. It's located at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, and the chassis number, transmission number, engine number and price are all available upon request.

Just do me a favour after you buy it: Grow a beard, if you don't already have one, and find something to juice with Zooey Deschanel.
