LG’s G7 ThinQ Boombox Speaker Is Literally The Cardboard Box It Came In

LG’s new G7 ThinQ flagship phone has just gone on sale in Australia. One of the key features is boombox mode, which makes the sound louder and has enhanced bass. In fact, the resonance chamber is ten times bigger than what the G6 has.

But for those of you who want an ever richer experience, LG has a solution for you — the box the phone came in.

Not only that, but the phone’s instruction manual tells you how to turn the packaging into a boombox speaker, which includes having to cut a big old hole in it. There’s even diagrams!

I like how many warnings there are for converting a cardboard box into a sweet speaker system.

But mostly, I can’t help thinking about it like this…

You’ll see a proper review up soon, but in the meantime — LG’s G7 ThinQ is on sale from today at JB Hi-Fi and Mobileciti and has an RRP of $1,099.
