If you’re all about that prepaid life, but also like using data for all the things, this may be a plan for you.
OVO have just announced their brand new 150GB prepaid mobile data plan. It’ll cost you $89.95 every 30 days, with no lock-in contracts and operating on the Optus 4G Plus network.
It was only towards the end of 2017 that they were the first in market to release a 100GB prepaid plan. I guess people are already hungry for more.
The plan definitely seems to be aimed at young Australians who use their data for multiple devices. A phone, wearable, tablet and laptop aren’t that unusual to find in a person’s bag. I’m personally rolling three phones deep right now.
Of course, this plan is clearly quite strongly targeted at those who want to be able to use prepaid data plans at home – especially as they offer modem purchase as an added option for the plan.
“More than 60 per cent of OVO’s customers are under the age of 28. We’re talking about a generation of renters who grew up on mobile, and typically leave home each day with a variety of connected devices they expect to be able to access wherever and whenever they go,” says OVO CEO Matt Jones.
“With this plan, coupled with a portable modem, they can connect up to five devices at a time. We know this audience is multi-screening, they’re streaming audio and video content while they’re working, studying and even gaming.”
The question is, how long do we have to wait until unlimited prepaid mobile data plans are a thing?
