We all know that electric motors have gobs of torque, and can accelerate quick as all hell. We also know that Tesla is developing an all-electric semi truck. Now we get to see both of those things confirmed, in one simple video.
In the video we see Tesla's semi driving bobtail (cool-kid trucker slang for 'no trailer') down a little 40km/h street in some industrial part of a city.
We also see the truck driver's contempt for that 40km/h limit, since the driver lays some rubber right on the big 25 painted right on the street before hauling arse down the road.
Also notable is the semi's taillight treatment: Tesla seems to have foregone the traditional truck setup of cheap box-taillights in favour of a single long red LED strip. I wonder if that more-expensive detail will make it to production.
