Video: We love a good haunted house story, and Marrowbone looks like it may just qualify.

Written and directed by Sergio G. Sánchez, the film stars New Mutants co-stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Charlie Heaton (also known for their roles in Split and Stranger Things). It’s the story of four siblings who lose their mother and move into an old haunted house to try and stay together. Which, it turns out, probably wasn’t a great idea. Check out the creepy trailer.
Sanchez wrote The Orphanage and The Impossible for J.A. Bayona (currently directing Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), but this is his feature directorial debut. He’s certainly learned from a great filmmaker and this cast is super solid. We can only hope that the film lives up to the trailer, which looks like a personal take on a traditional haunted house tale.
Marrowbone opens in US theatres, on demand and on streaming services April 13. An Australian release date has not yet been confirmed.
