This Artist Turns Spilled Paint Into Gorgeous Avalanches Of Colour

Video: Thomas Blanchard doesn’t paint like normal artists do. Instead of painstakingly applying colours to a canvas with a brush, he dumps litres of brightly coloured paints into a giant tank filled with oils and other liquids, producing psychedelic waterfalls of colour that could never hang in an art gallery.

Instead, his colourful experiments are documented on video, through a series of short films that now include Myst, which adds generic shapes and letters into the mix, creating obstacles for the avalanches of paint to cascade around and over. They’re wonderful to watch, but I can’t help but wonder who has to clean up the resulting messes?
