The latest Black Mirror trailer has been released for the season finale, “Black Museum”. It stars Letitia Wright, who had a recurring role on AMC’s Humans last season and who stars as King T’Challa’s sister Shuri in Marvel’s Black Panther. According to the official description, “Black Museum” is about a woman (Wright) who comes across a tourist-friendly crime museum with a surprising star attraction. No word what that attraction is, but museum curator Rolo Haynes tells her it can “inflict pain but not terror”.
It looks like the episode will incorporate moments from previous episodes. In the trailer, you can see the mugshot for Victoria Skillane, the lead character in season two episode “White Bear’, as well as a mask from the episode. These may be Easter eggs for fans of the series, or they could signify a larger connection to the history of the show. Black Mirror executive producer Annabel Jones called the episode a “portmanteau”, layering several stories on top of each other.
“‘Black Museum’ is absolute popcorn. It’s three stories in one – a portmanteau-type thing – but absolutely full of ideas that whip along and before you know it you’re at the end of a 90-minute film and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, can you please stop? This is horrendous, stop throwing me these things!’ It’s just unrelenting,” Jones told The Independent.
Black Mirror returns sometime this year. You can watch the latest trailer below.
