Man of Steel 2

Speaking with the Washington Times, producer Charles Roven revealed there is currently no script for a second Superman movie, though “various story ideas” have been discussed.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

A film adaptation of the Canadian horror anthology series is in development at Paramount Players, a new division of Paramount Pictures. Gary Dauberman (It) has been hired to write the screenplay. [Variety]

Screenwriter Danny McBride discusses how the new Halloween film came to be:

We pitched to Carpenter, and he was into it, which kind of blew David and me away, but I still think nobody was really talking about Jamie… I think everyone was kind of on the mindset of it’d be a grab to get her, but no one really knew if we would be able to. So [director David Gordon Green] and I just busted our arse on this script to really make that Laurie Strode character something she wouldn’t be able to say no to. When we finished the script, we sent it to her, and she said she was in. So we just flipped out. We were over the moon about her involvement.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

During a panel at Rhode Island Comic-Con, Paul Bettany referred to his character as a “a very cool intergalactic gangster”, which is a very nebulous but unsurprising description of a character in a movie about Han Solo. [CBM]

Warner Bros. has moved up the sequel’s US release date to 1 November 2019.[Deadline]

Pinocchio/Bond 25

The Tracking Board reports Sam Mendes has left Disney’s live-action Pinocchio, which has lead to speculation that the director could potentially return to the Bond franchise once more, after his work on Skyfall and Spectre.

Deadpool 2

Rob Liefeld meets with Cable in a new set photo.

CABLE!! Say what?? I’m going to actually meet him in the flesh and blood(and steel coils)?? And, oh, by the way, he’s one of your favorite and one of the most talented actors of all space and time! Yeah, I dare you to try and meet one of your own creations and not get umpteen butterflies in your stomach. I don’t remember anything that was said here besides me thinking “I’m meeting CABLE!! HOW AWESOME IS THIS?!?!” Mr. Josh Brolin could not be more perfect in this role. He is amazing and outstanding and you will no doubt be as giddy as I was when watching him portray Cable. His commitment to becoming Cable goes beyond his physical transformation, he found the voice that fans will go crazy about! Ryan as Deadpool and Josh as Cable. Look out World this is going to be nuts! #cable #xforce #deadpool #robliefeld #marvel #20thcenturyfox
