Another star joins the Venom film. Todd McFarlane promises changes to Spawn for his new movie. Mike Colter talks Iron Fist’s appearance in Luke Cage season two. The CW is working on another supernatural cop show. Plus, new Ant-Man & The Wasp set pictures and another look at Syfy’s Happy! adaptation. Behold, spoilers!
Justice League
A new promotion between the film and The Big Bang Theory to win a trip to the movie’s premiere may have revealed that Green Lantern will actually appear in some capacity in the movie. The show’s “geekstakes” promotional site includes an animated spinning wheel featuring the logos of each member of the League, including Superman and the movie’s emblem… and then a new, movie-style version of the Green Lantern logo:
It’s a weirdly specific addition, but it’s probably best to take this with a pinch of salt for now. [Reddit]
Meanwhile, I hope you had your fill of Aquaman week, because Ezra Miller decrees it to be Flash Week now on the movie’s official Twitter. All hail our new weekly ruler.

Venom
Variety reports Reid Scott (the wormy Dan Egan on HBO’s Veep) has been cast in, would you believe it, an undisclosed role.

Black Panther
Speaking with IGN, Andy Serkis stated the villainous Klaue is motivated to expose “the hypocrisy of Wakanda”… but also, Vibranium. Because duh.
He also wants to expose what he thinks is the hypocrisy of Wakanda. That’s really what drives him. As well as his addiction to vibranium.
Spawn
Speaking with Yahoo! Entertainment, Todd McFarlane stated his new Spawn wouldn’t simply retread the character’s origins story.
I always come back to Jaws — not that I have a shark in Spawn! But that shark was enormous. And at anytime in the movie, did they tell me why the shark was so damn big? No! Did it matter to me? No! All that mattered was that it was big and in the same vicinity as humans. Or John Carpenter’s The Thing: where do the aliens come from? I don’t know! What was its reason for taking over bodies? I don’t know! It just was. I’m ok without an origin. Just give me a compelling story, scare the s*** out off me from time to time, and I’m along for the ride… To me, this story is my way of saying, ‘Spawn’s been around for 25 years, and he’s been evolving for 25 years. This is where he’s at now’. I can’t do the same story over and over.”
iZombie
The Walking Dead‘s Daniel Bonjour will recur in season four as a documentary filmmaker named Levon chronicling Seattle’s zombie problem.

Dead Inside
The CW is producing a new supernatural police drama about a beat cop who teams up with the ghost of her detective brother. This new pairing will “flip their sibling dynamic on its head…allowing her to truly live her life for the first time,” presumably because her brother can’t, what with the whole “being a ghost” thing and all. Nancy Drew
A second recent attempt at a Nancy Drew series is underway — this new version, from the same producers, will see Nancy Drew as a successful author in her 40's or 50's reconnecting with her friends from youth to solve a murder mystery.[Variety]
Luke Cage
Mike Colter spoke to Black Film about his team-up with Iron Fist in season two:
There are people that love the idea of Heroes for Hire. When people saw The Defenders, they thought the relationship was good between Finn and I and they are curious. They want to see more of that. He will bring some fresh blood in the new season and I’m hoping that people will respond to it well. We are teamed up for a bit. That’s the whole point of bringing that flavour to it. I can see how this works. That’s what good about it. We’re giving people what they want. A lot of times people wanted to see Jessica Jones and Luke and what happens to them; but we went out on a limb, and decided to “let’s give a little heroes for hire somewhere in the season and see what happens.” Hopefully people will respond to it.
Riverdale
Madchen Amick shared a photo of herself with co-star Hart Denton on Instagram. Denton will be portraying her estranged son, Chic Cooper, a name that is still fabulous no matter how many times I hear it.
Happy!
Syfy has released another quick teaser for their adaptation of Grant Morrison’s graphic novel, Happy!
