(Some) Telstra Customers Are Getting Free Foxtel Now

Telstra is giving mobile customers who sign up to a $99 or more Go Mobile Plus plan a year’s worth of free Foxtel Now.

Just in time for Game of Thrones! Oh, wait.

Here’s how it works: If you sign up to a $99 or above Go Mobile Plus plan before 25 December 2017, you will get to choose up to three Foxtel Now “Starter Packs” like Pop, Drama, Docos, Kids or Lifestyle worth up to $420.

Update: Telstra has just let us know some more plans that get a 12 month Foxtel Now subscription included in the deal:

Customers taking up a new $79 and above BYO plan receive an included Foxtel Now 12-month subscription

Customers taking up a new a new $45 and above tablet plan also receive an included Foxtel Now 12-month subscription.

You’ll need to download the Telstra TV app from the Play Store or Apple App Store to pick your starter pack.

“With the most generous data allowances ever, underpinned by Australia’s fastest mobile network, our latest plans will enable customers to keep up with their favourite TV shows, when they’re out and about,” said Michele Garra, Executive Director Telstra Media Group.

This is the first time a deal like this has been made between Telstra and Foxtel, but the network says it’s not an entirely new concept for Telstra.

“We’ve already established strong content partnerships with the AFL, NRL, Netball and Apple Music,” Garra said.

Mobile video content now accounts for 38 per cent of usage on Telstra’s mobile network, and within the next five years that figure is expected to jump to 75 per cent.
