If you're hanging out to upgrade to an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus, today's the first day you can commit: from 5:01PM you'll be able to join Apple's virtual queue, and also pre-order through Australia's major telcos.
Here's the link you'll need to hit up if you're ordering directly from Apple. You should be able to place your order from 5:01PM AEST sharp, but if you want to guarantee a phone on launch day you'll have to be quick; iPhone stock is always limited in the first few days and weeks after launch.
Each telco will have its own separate pre-order channels, too: Telstra here, Optus here, Vodafone here, Virgin Mobile here. We'll also drop links to each carrier's on-plan pricing as it's released below.
If you want an iPhone X, you'll have to wait a little while longer — pre-orders for that phone open up on October 27, and it goes on sale a week later on November 3. [Apple]
Telstra's last out the gates with its iPhone plan pricing. Here it is.
Optus's contract plan pricing for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are out, just as pre-orders open. I think is an under-handed tactic to force you to jump onto a pre-order without carefully considering it, but in any case, here they are.
Vodafone has just announced its pricing for the new Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. If you're thinking of picking up a new Apple handset come September 22, here's how much you'll be paying on Voda.
A few days after Vodafone's early announcement, Virgin Mobile has now locked in its plan pricing for the new iPhones. All of them. Here's your comprehensive list of Virgin's pricing for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X.
