Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Speaking with Collider, Domhnall Gleeson stated he also had a strong reaction to the film’s “different” script.
When I read it I needed to talk to him, and I think that’s always a good sign. I was like, ‘Wow there’s some stuff there which is kind of — not scary but different to what I expected,’ and that’s a really, really nice thing. I think that’s a really positive thing, I think that’s important for those films that we don’t repeat ourselves. So I just wanted to talk to him, and when I talked to him he was so clear and so confident, not in a brash way but he knew the film he wanted to make, and it was a really lovely thing. Just [to] sit down with a filmmaker you really enjoy… but to see him, just the confidence of it and his excitement about what it could be and everything, it was really pleasing to see. Very calming. And I got really excited about being in it, and it was a really very, very cool experience working with him. I would love to work with him again, I really enjoyed it.
I’m just really interested to see the film now, as well. You never know what something’s gonna be like. Even when you read the script, you don’t know what the tone of something is gonna be. You can guess at it, but I can’t wait to see it. I just wanna sit in a room full of people and watch that movie and see what it does to us.
In related news, Cineworld‘s website has updated to add that The Last Jedi will run 150 minutes, making it the longest Star Wars film by about eight minutes, swiping the record from Attack of the Clones.
Captain Marvel

I spent months thinking about whether or not I was going to do the film, and I realised that it was a chance to tell a story on the largest scale possible. I know it is going to make me lose some of the things I love most about my life, but I think it’s worth it.

Kung Fu
A direct sequel to the 1970s TV series Kung Fu is in development at Fox from Arrow producers Greg Berlanti and Wendy Mericle. According to Deadline, the new series will follow the adventures of Lucy Chang, “a Buddhist monk and kung fu master who travels through 1950s America armed only with her spiritual training and her martial arts skills as she searches for the man who stole her child years before. When she teams with JT Cullen, a charming Korean war vet with his own secrets, the two form an unlikely alliance that allows Lucy to continue her search while also coming to the aid of people in need.”
Supernatural
Entertainment Weekly reports Yadira Guevara-Prip will recur in season 13 as Kaia Neives, “a flirty, sarcastic and severely haunted” woman who can enter different dimensions through her dreams. Should the Wayward Sisters spinoff go forward, Kaia will join the main cast.
In related news, the demon Asmodeus makes a bold power play in the synopsis for episode two, “The Rising Son”.
Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) begin to explore what Jack (Alexander Calvert) is capable of doing with his powers. An unexpected visit from Donatello (guest star Keith Szarbajka) alerts the boys to the fact that Jack will need more protection than the Winchesters can provide. There is a new Prince of Hell in town, Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise), and with Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) out of the picture, he sets his sights set on Jack.
Riverdale
Betty leads the push to save Pop’s diner from closing in the synopsis for “Nighthawks”.
With the gunman still at large and the residents of Riverdale on edge, Betty (Lili Reinhart) leads the charge to save Pop’s after learning that the diner may be forced to close its doors forever. Meanwhile, the gang becomes increasingly concerned for Archie’s (KJ Apa) well being after noticing a string of unusual behaviour from him. Elsewhere, Betty and Veronica (Camila Mendes) approach Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and Josie (Ashleigh Murray) for their help saving Pop’s, while Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) attempt to find FP (Skeet Ulrich) a new lawyer may have some serious repercussions. Finally, when a past betrayal unexpectedly comes to light, Veronica finds herself at a crossroads with Hiram (Mark Consuelos) and Hermoine (Marisol Nichols.)
Arrow
Slade narrates a new trailer for season six.
Meanwhile, the KGBeast returns in the synopsis for episode two of the new season, “Tribute”.
Oliver (Stephen Amell) tries to balance being the mayor, the Green Arrow and a father to William (guest star Jack Moore). Anatoly (guest star David Nykl) returns to Star City with a deadly agenda.
The Flash
Meanwhile, Barry and Iris go to couple’s therapy in the synopsis for episode two of The Flash‘s new season “Mixed Signals”.
Barry (Grant Gustin) has his hands full when he takes on a dangerous meta (guest star Dominic Burgess) who can control technology, while also confronting an obstacle in his personal life: the ramifications of abandoning Iris (Candice Patton) for six months to balance the Speed Force. Meanwhile, Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) breaches in for a hot date with Cisco (Carlos Valdes), but she gets annoyed when his work keeps them apart.
Supergirl
Rounding out CW synopses, we have Supergirl vs Psi in “Triggers”:
Psi (guest star Yael Grobglas), a thief with psychic powers, attacks National City. Able to immobilize people by tapping into their worst fears, Psi proves a formidable opponent for Supergirl. Meanwhile, James (Mehcad Brooks) and Lena (Katie McGrath) are at an impasse, and Samantha starts her new job at L-Corp.
Rick & Morty
Dan Harmon is considering upping the episode count of Rick & Morty‘s fourth season to 14 episodes — but is worried he may “fall apart”.
I mostly blame myself for doing 10 instead of 14. I’m still learning how to do the show efficiently while catering to the perfectionist in all of us. I would like to think I’ve learned enough from my mistakes in season 3 that we could definitely do 14 now, but then I have to say, “Yeah but you’re the guy who says we can do 14 who turned out to be wrong so we’re not listening to you now.’ The nice healthy way to approach this is I want to prove it with the first 10 of season 4 — prove it to ourselves, to production, to the network — that it’s so easy that we’ll earn additional episodes. Because I never got this far [working on NBC’s] Community. I fell apart in season 3 of Community and got fired in season 4. Now I’m about to do season 4 of Rick and Morty and want to prove that I’ve grown.
