Captain Marvel
A wild new report from MCU Exchange claims that, despite comments to the contrary from Marvel Studios, much of Carol Danvers’ original origin story will make it into the new movie.
The site alleges that not only will Carol start out as Ms. Marvel, complete with a version of her original comic book costume, she will also still get her powers from the explosion of a Kree device called the Psyche-Magnetron. Perhaps most perplexing of all, the site also states that Mar-Vell — the Kree warrior who was both the original Captain Marvel and Carol’s love interest — will indeed appear in the film. For now, take all this with a heavy pinch of salt.

Deadpool 2
Zazie Beetz has shared another new image of her take on Domino:
In related news, director David Leitch discussed how he plans to depict Domino’s unique mutant ability to manipulate probability in a conversation with Cinema Blend.
We’re having fun with her power, because when you really distill it — the laws of probability… So I think there’s a lot of ways to go with it, and I think we have some really cool visual ideas of how we can demonstrate that. And then also there’s the Deadpool tone of how you can be self-referential to all powers. So it’s going to be fun.
Lastly, the infamous Just Jared has set pics of Deadpool tethered to a parachute.

Stranger Things
Shawn Levy revealed at San Diego Comic Con that Sean Astin’s character, Bob, is “the Barb” of season two.
Yes. It’s Sean Astin. Yeah. Sean Astin as Bob is going to be, I’m saying it, but he’s kind of going to be the Barb of Season 2. His part is substantially bigger. He’s in a lot of episodes. He is magnificent. And one thing the Duffers do really well is when they see what an actor is capable of, they write to that. They don’t make the actor play what’s on the page. They often change what’s on the page to exploit everything that’s unique about that actor. They did it with Steve Harrington last season and this season again and they did it big time with Sean Astin who as Bob I think is going to be a Barb level fan favourite.
Please look forward to all future seasons of Stranger Things having their own Barb. [Screen Rant]
The Flash
Speaking at the TCA 2017 summer press tour, CW president Mark Pedowitz mercifully confirmed the series is done with Speedster villains, at least for the forseeable future:
I think we’re done with speedster villains.
Thank god. [Screen Rant]
Game of Thrones
Images from this week’s episode, “Spoils of War” seem to depict the long-awaited meeting between Jon Snow and Theon Greyjoy. Just as with the Daenerys/Jon pics from last week, the two are never in the frame together, but the locations appear the same. Head over to Screen Rant to see the rest.
