There’s Still Hope For Constantine’s To Return To Live-Action TV

Little Shop of Horrors

Greg Berlanti has refuted the recent Josh Gad/Rebel Wilson casting rumours.

I am working on a script for that with somebody right now, but there’s no casting decisions that have been made.

Berlanti also seemed to confirm the film would be set present day:

We’re still working with a writer on how to make it again for today. We have some real reasons why we think it would be really cool to do again.

Annihilation

The film adaptation of Jeff VanderMeer’s novel, starring Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez and Tessa Thompson, hits US theatres 23 February 2018. [Variety]

Shazam

Speaking with the Toronto Sun, David F. Sanberg stated Shazam would be the most “lighthearted” DC film yet:

The big attraction for me with that character is the fact that every kid dreams of being Superman, right? I mean I certainly did, and (Billy Batson) is a kid that gets that chance. He gets to become the superhero. So it will be big with superpowers in a way. In terms of what people can expect, I think this will be one of the more fun or lighthearted movies so far in the DC universe. It certainly will be a departure.

Transformers

Transformers News reports Hasbro confirmed they’re releasing a second theatrical, animated Transformers movie during their annual Investor Day.

Justice League

Here’s a “new” trailer, which is basically the Comic-Con one with some extra lines of dialogue.

Lastly, Kiersey Clemons praised her scenes as “sick” when asked about the current reshoots by Coming Soon.

Everyone’s asking me that. No, I finished all my stuff with Zack [Snyder], I wish him well and I have no idea what’s going on right now but I’m sure whatever they’re doing is necessary. I know the parts that I did introducing Iris are f — ing sick. I can’t wait to see the movie. I’m so happy that I’ve been introduced to this genre because I didn’t really have any type of desire to be a part of any superhero world. And then I stepped on the set of Justice League and I was like, ‘Holy shit. Alright!’

Avengers 4

While promoting his new film, Wind River, Jeremy Renner told Collider he returns to the Avengers to film the fourth movie very soon:

When do you go back for Avengers 4?

JEREMY RENNER: Like 10 days.

Oh, wow.

RENNER: Two weeks. Something like that.

Pacific Rim: Uprising

Speaking with IGN, John Boyega promised that the new class of Jaegers in the movie are much more graceful than their predecessors.

We’ve got better upgrades. The robots are moving much more swift. Yeah, we’re like ballerinas up in there, it’s fantastic.

Toxic Shark

Here’s a trailer for a new Syfy original movie, Toxic Shark — it is, as the name suggests, about an arsenic-dripping shark. Never change, Syfy.

Legends of Tomorrow

Executive producer Phil Klemmer tells IGN that the series is “actively campaigning” to bring Matt Ryan’s Constantine aboard the Waverider for season 3 — which isn’t a solid confirmation, but an attempt is being made, at least. Have we mentioned before how extremely good this show is?

The third episode of season three is titled “Zari”, after incoming supernatural hero Zari Adrianna Tomaz, AKA Isis. Suffice to say, it’s probably the episode she makes her debut in.

The Flash

Carlos Valdes told Entertainment Weekly not everyone is happy to have Barry return to the team — start speculating now, but maybe Wally, if Barry’s return means he once again loses his place as the premier speedster on Team Flash?

I wish I could say that the team unanimously agrees that things are not the same when the season starts, but not everybody feels that way. Most of the energy on the team is toward getting Barry back, and Cisco may or may not have some things up his sleeve with regards with how to make that happen, but there is a member of the team that’s not on board, and that ultimately makes the mission to get Barry back a lot more difficult. But the thing about Cisco is if he wants to get his friends back, he will do whatever it takes the get his friends back — and that’s not just Barry.

Arrow

David Ramsey revealed to CBR the new season will put Diggle’s character through the wringer. Poor Diggle.

I think Season 6 we’ll see Diggle get broken in a way he hasn’t been broken before. It already starts in [the first episode], and I think there’s a certain amount of it that will continue throughout the season. I think it’s an arc for Diggle that we haven’t seen, even beyond his brother coming back to life and killing his evil brother and that leading to the death of the Canary.

The explosion profoundly affects Diggle, emotionally and physically. I went back to the island and was shown what happened in the explosion. You’re going to really like what happens to Diggle.

Marc Guggenheim also revealed the show’s writers already have plans for season seven:

We have a shape for season seven already. This is the earliest we’ve ever had an idea for a season that far ahead, but it’s come out of our conversations about season six.
