Video: Luckily for Syfy’s 12 Monkeys (and its fans), the show has known in advance that season four would be its final one. Season three ended with a massive splinter and a young Cole being told the story of the ouroboros serpent by his father, which is right where this trailer for season four begins.
The story of the serpent eating its own tail is re-told in this trailer by pretty much every character, while everyone hurtles through time — in appropriate costumes — trying to change the past, preset and future:
It was released during the show’s final Comic-Con panel, while the cast sneakily avoided giving anything away. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a year or so to see season four — unless someone gets around to inventing that time machine.
