Disney has announced a slew of new details about its forthcoming spin on The Nutcracker, called The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

Directed by Lasse Hallström, it stars Mackenzie Foy (Interstellar, The Conjuring) as a young girl who discovers on Christmas Eve that the world has four alternate realms. These are the Land of Flowers, Land of Sweets, Land of Snowflakes, and Land of Spice (or Ginger, it wasn’t made clear). Each is lead by a unique character played by the likes of Keira Knightley (as the Sugar Plum Fairy), Helen Mirren (as Mother Ginger), Eugenio Derbez (as the Flower Realm King), and Richard E. Grant.

Morgan Freeman plays the magician Drosselmeyer, and the Mouse King will be a CG creation with movement by dancer named Charles Riley, best-known by his stage name, Lil Buck. Ballet superstars Misty Copeland and Sergei Polunin will also have featured performances.

That was really all that was revealed about the film, but it has a lush look very much in line with what you saw in the recent Beauty and the Beast film. Nutcracker and the Four Realms hits theatres November 2, 2018.
