Video: The first trailer for Spike TV’s adaptation of Stephen King’s short story The Mist was highly atmospheric and plenty spooky. But while this new teaser is shorter, it’s way gorier. This winter’s TV just got a lot more stomach-turning, and I mean that in the best possible way.
The images fly by awfully fast, but there appears to be something in that ominous cloud that enjoys snacking on human eyeballs — and it also causes the humans trapped in its midst to do all kinds of terrible things. We’ll find out how (and if) a TV series can sustain this level of tension over an entire season — and hopefully come to a conclusion more satisfying than the 2007 feature film of The Mist did — when the show debuts in the US June 22. An Australian broadcaster has not yet been announced.
