Aquaman recruits a Power Ranger. Michael Fassbender is confirmed for another X-Men appearance. Get a first look at the familiar Predators of the Predator reboot. Black Adam

In an interview with Fandango, Dwayne Johnson revealed Black Adam will make an unexpected debut cameo in an earlier DC film, before either Shazam or the rumoured Black Adam spinoff film are but a twinkle in the DCEU’s eye:

It’s definitely going to happen, sure. We’ve had great conversations with Geoff Johns and everyone over at DC. It’s an exciting time right now for everyone at DC because they are in a process now where they are building out [their DC universe] really nicely. We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can’t reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix

MTV’s Josh Horowitz says you can expect Michael Fassbender’s Magneto to appear in Dark Phoenix, but not New Mutants. Unsurprising, given that he’s like, you know… one of the main characters of the main franchise movies?

The Batman

Following Josh Gad’s “putting things out there” approach to the Penguin, Matt Reeves likes the idea of Andy Serkis. Bear in mind that The Batman is so far away at this point any name mentioned is going to be, at best, idle speculation.

The Predator

A set pic seems to depict a couple of Predators (or Yautja, if you prefer) manning a friggin’ tank alongside a few human compatriots. Could this be teasing an alliance against a greater threat, or just some on-set goofballery?

Avengers: Infinity War

A casting call over at Backstage is looking for extras in Atlanta:

The feature seeks a female aged 20 — 49 with a dark complexion and who either is “bald or [has] very short, black hair” to serve as a stand-in. Additionally, African American males ages 21 — 49 are needed, also for stand-in gigs.

Wonder Woman

Zach Snyder revealed the sequel — which director Patty Jenkins already has a few ideas about — is already in development, during a red carpet event in Shanghai. [/Film]

Speaking of which, this Chinese trailer has a few, brief milliseconds of new footage.

War for the Planet of the Apes

Here’s a new teaser for today’s “final” trailer for the film.

It Came from the Desert

Here’s our first trailer for the film adaption of the cult MS-DOS/Amiga video game about giant, radioactive ants.

Despicable Me 3

In a new clip, the Minions take a page from the Pirates of Penzance songbook. You know how kids today love Gilbert and Sullivan!

Transformers: The Last Knight

Empire has new a image of Bumblebee mounting the flaming wreckage of a giant mech, as Transformers are wont to do.

John Hannah is The Mage, a nihilist wizard intent on inter-world destruction, and lastly, Aleks Paunovic shall play Wygar Oak, an enforcer of the Dengdamor royal family. [THR]

The X-Files

A press release confirms the latest miniseries will air mid-season in 2018, while also lauding just how much everyone talks about The X-Files on Twitter.

In 2018, additional new series and events joining the schedule include dramas 9-1-1 and THE RESIDENT; comedy LA TO VEGAS; and an all-new instalment of event series THE X-FILES.

The next chapter of THE X-FILES, a thrilling, 10-episode second instalment of the event series, once again will be executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average multi-platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was the season’s No. 2 broadcast drama, as well as the most talked-about event series on Twitter.

Sad news: Scream Queens has been cancelled at Fox. [TV Line]

Westworld

Luke Hemsworth confirmed to the Huffington Post that his character, Stubbs, is “physically well” following the events of the season finale.

Physically? [Stubbs is] well. He’s doing all right. Just taking a sabbatical.

Doctor Who

Michelle Gomez told the Radio Times she’s done playing the Master after Steven Moffat and Peter Capaldi step down:

My pals are going so I’m going. Everybody’s leaving, so I’m going too. I mean, what would I do without Peter and Steven? Who would I be? Nah, it’s done now. It’s over. It’s the end of a chapter.

But I’ll miss the amazing, wonderful, incredible Peter Capaldi, who I think is one of the best Doctors we’ve ever had. I’ll miss somebody like Steven Moffat writing me the best lines I’ve ever had in my career.

Finally, here are some pictures from “Extremis” featuring Michelle Gomez’s return as Missy. You can see a lot more at the link. [Doctor Who News]
