Something Totally Crazy Could Happen To Bumblebee In Transformers: The Last Knight

The BBC is waging a new War of the Worlds. Get a bizarre look at a Guardian of the Galaxy on the set of Avengers: Infinity War. Aquaman teases some flashbacks ahead for Arthur Curry. Plus, teasing new details for the Han Solo movie, and what’s to come on Arrow, Flash, iZombie and Supergirl. To me, my spoilers!

Transformers: The Last Knight

A recently discovered standee for the film depicts another new look for Optimus Prime. This one is similar to the “Knight” appearance we’ve seen in other posters and the trailers, but with less armour and more parts of his body in a classic Bumblebee yellow, including a good chunk of his torso — which itself actually looks more like Bumblebee’s than it does Optimus’. Optimus is also intriguingly missing the purple eyes he’s had in the trailers, too.

We know Optimus and Bumblebee fight each other in the film — could the outcome of that fight lead to Optimus using parts from a wrecked Bumblebee to rebuild himself? Or is it some sort of Baytastic merging of the two former allies in order to free Optimus from the strange Cybertronian force has turned him antagonistic? [Screen Rant]

Aquaman

Australian actor Otis Dhanji has been cast as the 13-year-old Arthur Curry, indicating we’re going to see some of Aquaman’s early years in the movie. [Screen Rant]

Avengers: Infinity War

A scale model of Rocket has been spotted on set at Durham Cathedral, and it’s honestly a little creepy.

Scooby Doo

The animated Scooby-Doo movie has been pushed back two whole years. It will now be released on 15 May 2020. [Variety]

Han Solo

Making Star Wars has revealed a few names that are associated with the film, although without more context they don’t really tell us anything. Ian Kenny plays a character named Rebolt, while Harley Durst plays Moloch — some kind of commanding brute or gang member perhaps, considering Tien Hoang is credited as “Moloch’s Henchman”.

The site also reports the names “Gremm” and “Emlys Nest” might be attached to the film, but can’t confirm whether those refer to characters, locations or planets.

Blade Runner 2049

Here are two new posters for the movie, featuring Deckard and Agent K wandering aimlessly.

The Flash

Billy Crudup, who plays the Flash’s father, Henry Allen, has no idea when the film begins shooting:

It’s unclear at the moment. I think, Ezra’s schedule… Ezra’s a busy man, he’s very popular and excellent.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

The latest trailer features Arthur sacrificing his horse to leap to a higher platform like it’s a Yoshi in Super Mario World. Poor horse.

War of the Worlds

Variety reports the BBC has commissioned an 11-episode War of the Worlds miniseries from writer Peter Harness, perhaps best known for his work on adapting Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell for the BBC, and several recent episodes of Doctor Who. Speaking with the North-West Evening Mail, Harness confirmed the miniseries is set in the time period of H.G. Wells’ original story:

I’m feeling phenomenally lucky to be writing The War Of The Worlds, and blowing up gigantic swathes of the home counties at the dawn of the 20th Century. Wells’ book is ground zero for all modern science fiction, and like all the best sci-fi, manages to sneak in some pretty astonishing comments on what it is to be a human being too.

Emerald City

Sad news: The show has been canceled by NBC. [TV Line]

Arrow

Deathstroke, Nyssa, Merlyn and even Captain Boomerang for some reason join Oliver’s battle against Prometheus in the synopsis for “Lian Yu”, the season finale.

The battle between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) culminates in a final epic battle on Lian Yu. After recent events, Oliver decides to recruit a group of unlikely allies – Slade (guest star Manu Bennett), Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law), Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Digger Harkness (guest star Nick. E. Tarabay) – to defeat Chase. However, Chase has his own army – Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy), Evelyn Sharp (guest star Madison McLaughlin) and Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig) – and the forces collide in an explosive season finale.
