iTunes Is Coming To The Windows Store

Apple is bringing iTunes to the Windows Store. Why, you might ask? Well, because people are looking for it there.

Announced at Microsoft’s Build developer conference, the move brings one of Apple’s longest-running — and most maligned — pieces of software to one of Microsoft’s. The Windows Store is a part of life if you’re running Windows 10, though, and your entire life on Windows 10 S — and while longtime PC users are familiar with downloading programs from websites on the ‘net, regular punters apparently use the store more than you’d think.

iTunes is one of the most searched-for apps on the Windows Store, according to Microsoft, and fulfilling the wishes of customers is how you keep them happy and committed to your platform. Microsoft has a big task ahead of it with increasing the quantity and quality of Windows Store apps, but getting iTunes on board is a huge step in the right direction.

The Verge also makes the note that Google’s Chrome may never make its way to the Windows Store, though, which makes things a little bit more complicated if you’re thinking of picking up a Surface Laptop with Microsoft’s Windows Store-app-only Windows 10 S on it. [The Verge]
