2017 Budget: $5.9 Million For Apps To Help Indigenous Kids With Education

As a part of the Federal Government’s “Closing the Gap” program, $5.9 million has been allocated for a trial using apps to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

The funding will be spread over four years from 2017-2018 onwards. The trial itself will be undertaken over two years – 2019 and 2020 – in 20 preschools around Australia.
