Luke Skywalker Might Have Something Surprising In His Possession In The Last Jedi

The Rampage movie could be even more insane than we imagined. Arrow‘s producers tease casualties for the season finale. An important Riverdale season 2 character has been cast — but there’s a catch. Plus, more teases for Harley Quinn’s arrival on Gotham, and new pictures from the next episode of Doctor Who. Spoilers now!

Luke Skywalker Might Have Something Surprising In His Possession In The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Making Star Wars reports that Luke Skywalker wears an interesting piece of jewellery in the movie: A necklace holding a red crystal. While the site could not confirm that the stone plays a particularly prevalent part in the story or if it was just a small costume design detail, it claims there’s been rumours that Luke would carry parts of Darth Vader’s destroyed lightsaber on his person in the movie, an attempt to keep such a powerful Dark Side relic away from prying sinister eyes (and, say, a desperately edgy nephew who wants to put anything related to his dead grandfather into a shrine somewhere).

The rumour is intriguing, as the Aftermath series of books set after Return of the Jedi have fleetingly hit upon dark side cultists allegedly attempting to get their hands on Vader’s lightsaber. And considering we’re expecting Kylo Ren and his knights to show up on Ahch-To at some point for a major scuffle in The Last Jedi, maybe the gem could be Vader’s former lightsaber crystal after all.

The Nun

Vera’s younger sister, Taissa Farmiga, has joined the cast.

Rampage

Splash Report has reportedly got a hold of a detailed plot synopsis of the film, and it sounds frankly ridiculous, in a potentially exciting way.

After a space station owned by the Griffin Technology Group explodes, three mysterious canisters fall to Earth — one reaches a gorilla in the San Diego Zoo, another hits a wolf in the plains of Wyoming, and the third makes contact with an alligator in the Florida Everglades. The brother-and-sister team who own the company — played by Malin Ackerman and Jake Lacy — try to cover up the gaffe by attracting the mutated creatures to their headquarters in Chicago with a giant monster magnet.

Dwayne Johnson plays an ex-marine and primatologist (of course!) who personally raised the mutant ape, George, while Naomie Harris plays a scrupulous scientist at Griffin who tries to handle the situation in a less destructive manner.

Cars 3

Nathan Fillion spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his personal talking car, Sterling. He’s “charming”, not “skeevy”.

While Lightning has been racing, the world has been changing, and Sterling has been at the forefront of that change and sees where it’s going and how to get that first. Anytime you say something about a quality of a character that’s ‘charming,’ I think a lot of people make the mistake and think of skeevy, but charming is someone who admires you, can disarm you, and gain your trust. He’s not being interesting, he’s being interested. He’s not, ‘Hey there, I’m great,’ which is not charming. He’s ‘Hey there, you’re great.’

Kong vs Godzilla

Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts told Screen Junkies News he’s done with giant monsters for the time being, and “definitely” doesn’t have “Kong vs Godzilla in me”.

I think I’m done with giant monsters for a little bit. Look, I’m really proud of this world, and I’m super proud of, I think in general, and this is out there too, the response being “Why do we need a new Kong movie?” and that was my response. I’m really proud of how weird this movie is and how much people embraced that stuff and actually called out how strange the movie is, and I wanted it to have a voice. I’m so proud of what we did and how I think it is very non-traditional blockbuster in 2017 and I’m so proud of what Legendary and Warner Bros. and those guys allowed me to do and the collaboration we had, but I definitely don’t think I got Kong vs Godzilla in me. You never say never, I’m so proud of the Kong we made and the vibe of him and the energy of him and the vibe of the creatures on the island and everything, but yeah it would be tough for me right now.

Alien: Covenant

Here’s another of those viral “last message to Earth” videos, in which Danny McBride’s Tennessee recounts the time he punched a police officer’s horse. What a scamp!

Riverdale

Mark Consuelos has been cast as Veronica’s formerly well-off dad (but charged with embezzlement before the events of the show, necessitating Veronica’s move to Riverdale), Hiram Lodge, as a regular character in the show’s second season. However, Consuelos’ casting apparently hinges on his Fox Baseball drama, Pitch, not getting a second season, so his role specifically is in the air. [TV Line]

The Black Company

Eliza Dushku and David Goyer are teaming up to bring Glen Cook’s fantasy series to television. In a press release, Dushku stated:

‘The Black Company’ is vast in scope yet remains fundamentally relevant through the morally ambiguous choices it presents at every turn. We are excited to bring Glen Cook’s classic story to life with Mark [Stern, President of IM Global Television] and David, luminaries in the cinematic pursuit of science fiction and epic fantasy, who will inevitably assemble poignant characters embroiled in jaw-dropping action.

Gotham

Executive Producer Danny Cannon refused to confirm or deny whether Barbara Kean becomes Gotham’s own Harley Quinn — a character we know is coming to the show at some point this season.

I can’t. I can’t. All I can tell you is, the great thing, the joy of working with Erin is the range. The reason we changed her character, [is] because we knew what she could do. We’re like, ‘We can’t keep you in one place. You’ve got to keep evolving.’ So she’s going to evolve again. That’s all I can tell you.

American Horror Story

Ryan Murphy told E! Online the new season will not cast actors to play Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, but instead use real footage from the 2016 US Election for all of their scenes.

We don’t have actors playing them. You’ll see them on television. The first 10 minutes of the season, this season, takes place in a very eerie macabre way on election night and there’s something terrible that happens in the lives of our characters on election night as they’re watching it all go down. Which in itself was a horror story, so it’s like a horror story upon a horror story.

Arrow

Executive Producer Wendy Mericle teased a few of those obligatory season finale character deaths in a new interview with EW:

Chase has been trying to prove to the world and to Oliver that he’s not a hero, he’s a killer, and he’s going to pull out one final, big whammo at the end that’s going to leave Oliver reeling. We might lose some people.

Lucifer

Lucifer learns to control his emotions on the synopsis for upcoming episode “Deceptive Little Parasite”:

When it is discovered that the flaming sword is the only hope for the family returning home safely, the pressure is on for Lucifer to control what he has never been able to control before – his emotions – in order to ignite it. Meanwhile, Chloe wants to air some emotions of her own, but when a therapist and head of admissions at a prestigious private school turns up dead, the team must get to the bottom of it.

The Flash

TV Line has the synopses for the final two episodes of the season — and surprise, it ends on a cliffhanger!

PRE-FINALE: Barry travels to 2024 to find out Savitar’s identity, where he encounters future versions of himself as well as his Team Flash friends. Upon returning to the present, Barry & Co. meet a scientist (House’s Anne Dudek) who may be the key to stopping Savitar, but they must — literally, and with great difficulty — fight to keep Killer Frost from getting to her first. Afterward, Caitlin’s icy alter ego makes an interesting proposal.

SEASON FINALE (MAY 23): After discovering Savitar’s true identity, Team Flash prepares for a final, epic battle with the God of Speed… while struggling with a major setback. Expect a season-ending cliffhanger that will leave viewers — and the heroes — questioning how they will move forward in Season 4.
