The Legend of Conan

On the heels of all this recent news about the various franchises Arnold Schwarzenegger won’t be returning to, it sounds like you can add Conan the Barbarian to the list. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, producer Chris Morgan gave an update about the long-gestating Conan sequel.

Not so much. That’s kind of a longer story. At the end of the day, the studio decided that they weren’t gonna make that. I gotta say, it’s honestly a heartbreak. I love that first movie so much, so much, it’s one of my favourite movies. We had Will Beall do a draft on [the Legend of Conan script]. He killed it. Our take was Conan, 30 years later, a story like the Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven. It was so awesome. Ultimately, the budget was big, the studio was not really sure of the title, and the relevance in the marketplace. They ended up letting it go. I think they’re gonna look to do a TV show or something with it. But just to be associated with it, pitch it to Arnold, have him get so excited, there was a moment of magic for me, personally [laughs]. You never know, down the road we may revisit!

However, the film’s writer, Erik Davis, is slightly more optimistic.

Legends of Tomorrow

Kamandi — Jack Kirby’s wild and weird post-apocalyptic jungle boy comic hero — may appear next season, according to producer Marc Guggenheim.

We have talked about Kamandi in the writers’ room. He’s definitely a character that we love and a concept that we love. Certainly, we’ve opened the door for that kind of story. I can’t say that we’re absolutely committed to doing Kamandi next year, it’s just totally on the table and certainly something we’ve been talking about.

More certainly, Arthur Darvill shall continue to hang around as Rip Hunter, which means I really hope the Legends team has listened to our chat about season two and Rip basically comes back as a totally different person (due to time shenanigans) every time we see him.

We’ve got plans for Rip for next year. It’s just in a different capacity than him being a member of the team.

The Walking Dead

It’s “certainly possible” that Glenn may continue to make posthumous appearances in season eight, according to showrunner Scott Gimple. He adds, “I’d be silly to say it isn’t.” This is basically the most vague answer could possibly give and doesn’t actually tell us anything about Glenn’s potential future on the show, but there you go.
