Watch A Blacksmithing American Forge A Knife Using Beer, Bacon And French Fries

Video: After apple pie and baseball, it’s hard to think of anything more American than giant weapons and fast food. So Steve Calvert, from YouTube’s Green Beetle channel, combined the two, using beer, bacon and French fries to forge a “‘Murica!” knife that promises to at least make the country’s kitchens great again.

The bacon and French fries were simply entombed in plastic resin to make the knife’s handle, but the knife’s blade was created by carburising iron using ground up Tums. To temper the resultant steel (the process that gives a knife its strength), the blade was then repeatedly heated and cooled using a pitcher of beer and fry oil.

Making one for yourself doesn’t look like a project for beginners.
