Huawei GR5: Australian Price And Availability

The latest entry in Huawei’s smartphone range is the GR5, available next month as a Vodafone exclusive – with other carriers to follow later in the year.

Designed for “trendsetters on a budget”, the GR5 comes with a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD screen and a dual lens (12Mp and 2MP) rear camera that can autofocus in 0.3 seconds and create those fancy “depth of field” portraits not too dissimilar to what the iPhone 7 Plus can achieve (but we’d have to test it out first to be sure).

there’s a bunch of camera modes – wide aperture mode, professional mode, food more, perfect selfie, beauty mode, make up mode for the front camera, panorama, HDR, watermark, audio note, ultra snapshot, best photo, smile snapshot, audio control, timer function, touch to capture, and time lapse mode.

The 3270 mAH takes 2.5 hours to charge, there’s a Kirin 655 processor with 16-nanometer process technology and i5 smart chip, 3GB operating memory and 32GB storage capacity ( you can also add 128GB with Micro SD).

Priced at $399, it will be available through Vodafone from 12 April, and other carriers in the second half of the year.
