The Brisbane Broncos show they have a heart of steel as Iron Man, the Melbourne Storm will come crashing down on the opposition with the strength of Thor, the Sydney Roosters will suit up as the agile Spider-Man and I will forever be amazed I’m writing about sports on what is essentially a geek site but they are wearing Marvel jerseys, dammit.
Shall I keep going? The North Queensland Cowboys will don the shield of Captain America, St George Illawarra Dragons will show their might as Ant-Man, the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will soar above their opponents as Falcon, the Wests Tigers will make their mark as the tenacious Rocket Raccoon, the Canberra Raiders will rule as Iron Fist, the Newcastle Knights will stand strong as Iron Patriot, and I could do this all day.
The ISC Marvel Heroes round kicks off on Thursday 23 March, and jerseys will be available for pre-sale from Monday 20 February at NRLShop.com, Club stores, Rebel, AMART Sports and “other selected sports retailers”, so you can get one for yourself.
What do you guys think? Do superheroes and sporting heroes mix?
