From small electronics to electric cars is a natural progression, right? For Myer and Tesla, yes: apparently the Melbourne CBD flagship store in Bourke St Mall is getting a little Tesla showroom inside the department store.
The news, revealed by Fairfax Media, will start off with one of Tesla’s new Model X SUVs on show in the sixth floor.
The $130,000-plus car will be by far the most expensive item on sale in Myer, but it’s part of a ‘new Myer’ push where the company has introduced nearly 1000 new retail brands in the past 18 months. Myer has previously partnered with Virgin Australia and Uber, and Tesla is another high-tech companion.
If you’re in the area, and want to sit inside a Model X, it looks like Myer is the place to do it. [SMH]
