Fire and Rescue NSW are cleaning up fuel spillage at Bankstown Airport in South-West Sydney this afternoon after an L39 Albatross — a high-performance Czech jet trainer — came off the runway at about 3:30pm. Police have confirmed that both people on board were uninjured.
A NSW Police spokeswoman told Yahoo7 that the plane “ran into problems and failed to take off”.
It hasn’t been confirmed who was at the controls today, or why the plane came to the stop it did.
