Video: When Voltron: Legendary Defender comes back for a second season later this month, the five paladins who pilot the series’ lion mechs will be in very different places. That doesn’t matter to the show’s villain, though. He’s going to hound them to the ends of the galaxy.
In a new interview at Entertainment Weekly, the producers of the Netflix Voltron revival say that the paladin pilots will be trying to figure things out after the first season‘s dramatic ending. Here’s executive producer Lauren Montgomery:
Each team member has to start the season dealing with their own problems. They have all been split off. We’re going to spend a little bit of time tackling problems on their own, but ultimately they do have to come back together in the end. They have to get back into solving the problem at hand, which is Zarkon has enslaved a large portion of the universe. You can’t let that just keep going for too long.
Montgomery and fellow executive producer Joaquinm Dos Santos offer some teases about possible new info on Zarkon’s past with the lion robots in the EW piece. The next season of Legendary Defender starts on January 20.
