DC is following Marvel’s lead with Thor, choosing Queensland’s Gold Coast as a location to film Aquaman.
A sweetener for choosing an Australian location, the Australian Government is giving the production a $22 million one-off grant, the Department of Communications and the Arts revealed in a statement. The film is expected to bring more than $150 million in the local economy and provide more than 1,100 jobs.
Australian James Wan (of Saw fame) is directing, and an Australian cast and crew will support stars Jason Momoa, Willem Dafoe and Amber Heard.
