Paramount may have dropped another big hint about The God Particle being related to the Cloverfield universe. There’s joyful new set pictures from The Defenders. Plus, previews for the returns of The Flash and Arrow, and new scenes from the midseason finales of The Walking Dead and The Vampire Diaries. Spoilers now!
Star Wars: Episode VIII
Making Star Wars has an intriguing new report about how Supreme Leader Snoke will appear in the film — not as a CGI creation as he was in The Force Awakens, but instead as a fully operated animatronic puppet, for scenes where he’ll physically interact with characters. The puppet will stand at around seven to eight feet tall and (presumably) be used in scenes where Snoke is in direct contact with people like Kylo Ren or General Hux. Snoke will only be CG for instances like The Force Awakens where he appears as a hologram.
Cloverfield/The God Particle
Paramount has removed The God Particle from its schedule and put a new Cloverfield movie in its stead for a release on 27 October 2017. It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it has been rumoured that God Particle is indeed going to be a Cloverfield film, so the removal makes sense. [Coming Soon]
Spider-Man: Homecoming
In the wake of the new trailer release, here’s a new synopsis for the film.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man — but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
USA Today has a new picture of Peter, presumably exposing his identity to a bunch of people on the train passing by.
