Just one day after the passing of her daughter, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds has died of a stroke.
Or one could argue, a broken heart.
She was rushed to the hospital just after 1:00pm PT from her son Todd’s house, where she was making funeral arrangements for Fisher.
In statement to Variety, Todd said that his mother “wanted to be with Carrie.”
Reynold’s rose to stardom in the 1950’s and 60’s with classics such as Singin’ in the Rain and The Unsinkable Molly Brown, for which she earned an Oscar nomination.
In 2015 she received a lifetime achievement awards from the Screen Actor Guild.
She was also at the centre of one of the biggest scandals in classic Hollywood when her husband, Eddie Fisher, left her for Elizabeth Taylor.
She was 84 years old.
