Video: “Eñvor” is a short by Leïla Courtillon that not only has some really lovely animation, but some of the best uses of sound I’ve ever seen in a short.
There is very little dialogue but it’s used to great effect, especially when you’re comparing the beginning to the end. And the chanting background music is unsettling, especially when mixed with the sounds of a cold and windy day by the beach. Plus, the whole thing turns on a ghostly foghorn.
